10 Perfect Pictures of Bokeh (shallow depth of field)

By utilizing a shallow depth of field, by using a wide f/ stop (small number), you can create a lovely blurry feel in the background. It works wonders when trying to isolate a subject and looks especially nice in macro shots, giving a smooth colourful texture in the background. As this is being written, ice-cold Siberian winds are sweeping through Europe with temperatures down to -30 degrees centigrade in some places. However this hasn’t meant everyone has hidden inside next to the heater; some brave souls have in fact dared to go out and face nature and have succeeded! Here are some of the best photos from this winter:

This place is the most visited and photographed canyon in the southwest of America. The incredible formations are created from flash floods which pick up tonnes of sand and smash it against the walls of the canyon, creating incredible, unique patterns. Now we had a Photo of the Day with a photo of this canyon and i felt it needed a little more exposure. Anyway, enough of that, take a look at some of these photos!
